Responsibilities:
Procurement:
- Source and identify suppliers for direct and indirect materials/services to broaden the supplier base and address new project or production requirements.
- Obtain quotes from newly identified suppliers to achieve competitive pricing and consistently reduce costs.
- Lead periodic price negotiations with suppliers to maintain cost competitiveness for materials/services.
- Participate in team efforts to conduct supplier qualification audits and parts qualifications, ensuring suppliers can meet company requirements.
- Qualify selected suppliers for inclusion in the Approved Vendor List.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews to manage and update supplier capabilities.
- Maintain standard operating procedures within the Procurement department to ensure consistent workflow processes.
- Develop and negotiate favourable supply agreements with suppliers.
- Collaborate with other departments and suppliers to establish efficient supply chain models, ensuring a reliable supply with minimal inventory holdings.
- Work with departments such as Engineering and Warehouse to establish quality standards for supplied items and develop a Quality plan.
- Supervise and train junior staff to lead the team in accomplishing the above duties.
- Undertake any other tasks or projects assigned by management.
Purchasing:
- Develop purchasing strategies for different supply categories to ensure timely order fulfilment with minimal direct purchase inventory.
- Ensure all indirect purchasing needs of the company are met based on user requirements.
- Periodically review purchasing strategies with management and propose changes when market trends shift.
- Provide regular alerts and updates to internal and external customers to promptly address any issues or delays and take necessary actions.
- Collaborate with principals/suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods to meet customer and company needs.
Warehousing
- Manage warehouse team to ensure timely receiving/issuance of raw materials.
- Manage warehouse team to achieve order fulfillment requirements specific to all customer shipments.
- Ensure overall inventory integrity of all goods in warehouse.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 5 years of relevant experience or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 7 years relevant experience.
- Min 5 years working experience and exposure in both mechanical and electrical customised parts and components sourcing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Words and Excel
