Job Title: Director


Purpose: Serve as a strategic thought leader


Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional for the role of Director. This strategic position requires someone with strong investment expertise and leadership capabilities to oversee both investment initiatives and general operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the company's financial strategy and overall business success.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review and approve key strategies and policies, as well as the financial objectives and operational plans of the Company.
  2. Monitor operation of the management, financial performance and implement strategies to optimize financial outcomes.
  3. Supervise and monitor the management, on an annual basis, to encourage compliance with the established operational plans in accordance with the direction and the strategies of the organization. This is to ensure that the management is capable of efficiently delivering results from the established visions, mission, business directions, and strategies, as well as being able to quickly adapt to changing circumstances.
  4. Establish a corporate governance and business code of conduct policy which provides for preferred practices of Directors, Executives and all Employees including Contract Staff. This policy should focus on the awareness of responsibility to one’s duties. Complete understanding and strict observance of this policy must be required alongside the Company’s articles of association to ensure fairness to all stakeholders.
  5. Review possible major risks and establish a comprehensive risk management guideline. Ensure that the Executives have the efficient risk management systems or procedures, seek potential business opportunities arising from such risks and implement sufficient and efficient internal controls.
  6. Conduct regular assessments of market conditions and economic trends to inform investment decisions.
  7. Identify opportunities for business growth and improvement.
  8. As a board of director - all directors are required to attend every Board of Director meetings and Annual General Meeting. In the event where they are otherwise engaged, Directors must report that to the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration/Economics/Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of financial modelling experience and proven experience as an Investment Manager with a successful track record in managing investment portfolios.
  • Experience in the Power and Utilities industry and familiarity with the broader energy industry will be an advantage.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel, Financial modelling techniques and tools, including use of VBA macros, or other Excel add-ins.
  • Strong leadership and managerial experience, preferably in a general management role.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in outputs.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to travel internationally as and when required.
