Position Objective
Cognita Asia Holdings Pte Ltd is part of Cognita Group and we are looking for a Finance Manager to be part of our Finance team. Our ideal colleague will have a mix of Accounting, Audit, and Tax experience.
This role supports Asia in financial and fiscal close and audit processes, ensuring compliance with internal reporting requirements. It is directly responsible for the full aspect of finance and accounting operations of Cognita Asia Regional Entities. The incumbent will be the subject matter expert on Singapore Tax, IFRS and Cognita Group accounting policies. As such, will support Group and Region with implementation and compliance of new policies, process controls, and tax reviews across Asia schools.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Regional Financial Controller and CFO in delivering Asia’s financial goals
- Lead accounting and reporting process for the region to meet internal and external requirements
- Coordinate, communicate, collaborate with Head Office, Regional Office and Schools on reporting timelines and other deliverables
Accounting / Financial Reporting / Process Improvements
- Ensure accounting records and statutory reporting are accurate, in compliance with Group and Statutory Accounting policies. Provide technical Accounting advice in accordance to IFRS as needed.
- Lead close process and review of Asia schools’ Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet results to drive timely close
- Promote compliance, process efficiency and implementation of best practices (including use of technology) across schools in Asia
- Co-ordinate with Group HQ, Region and schools to complete month, quarter and year-end close, audit and tax
- Provide critical business information to management by keeping updated with changes in accounting and tax regulatory changes
Budget/Forecast/Management Reporting/Financial Reporting & Analysis for Asia Regional Entities
- Collaborate with Finance and Operation teams to support financial performance and delivery of KPI
- Co-ordinate with Regional Stakeholders and schools to update monthly forecast and yearly budget
- Present financial results and outlook to Region
- Create and drive use of standard dashboards and reporting decks across Asia
Taxation
- Prepare corporate income tax computations, GST filing and related matters for Asia Regional Entities
- Assist Singapore schools with year-end tax review, filing and other tax related matters
- Review Asia schools’ submission of tax calculations for year-end internal reporting
Operations / Business Partnering / Finance Lead
- Partner with Head of Camp Asia as Finance Lead to deliver business goals & targets, drive operational and finance process excellence
Regional projects and initiatives
- Contribute to projects by providing finance expertise
Position Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Able to lead and influence small groups within and across functions
- Able to manage stakeholder requirements and prioritize outcomes to meet datelines
- Strong technical accounting knowledge of IFRS and statutory reporting requirements, including tax legislation
- Experience in financial reporting and scorecard creation, use
- Problem-solver with eye for details, strong collaboration and project management skills
- Experience with use of technology and digital systems in finance processes
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications
- Qualified accountant
- At least 4 - 5 years of accounting experience
