I am representing a global aviation services provider with more than 60 years of history, offering a diverse range of services including ground handling, cargo logistics, travel services, and flight catering.
With a presence at airports worldwide, the company is known for its commitment to quality and efficiency in supporting the operations of airlines and enhancing the overall travel experience for passengers.
As part of its business growth strategy, they are looking for a Head of Commercial to oversee Major Tenders/Bids for its cargo logistics operations and you should be familiar with the processes involved in airport tendering procedures.
This position plays a pivotal role in driving their cargo operations to new heights and expanding our market presence.
Reporting to the Commercial VP
- You will spearhead the commercial development and Customer Relationship Management of the cargo product.
- By effectively Collaborating closely with the Head of Cargo, you will contribute to the overall cargo strategy, promoting innovation and optimization in cargo product development.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the cargo operations sector, cultivating strong relationships with potential clients to enhance our market share.
- Lead the end-to-end bid management process for cargo operations, from identifying opportunities to submission and post-bid evaluation.
- Develop compelling and client-focused proposals, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry best practices.
- Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, competitors, and opportunities, providing insights to shape our bidding strategy.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop competitive pricing strategies and lead negotiations to secure profitable contracts.
- Manage the bid budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately for successful bid submissions.
Skills and experience required
- Proven experience in bid management and sales within the cargo operations or logistics industry or experience in handling large bid management with integrated services
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills and with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Results-driven with a focus on achieving sales targets and business growth and with the Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
