Caterpillar Construction Industries (CI) currently has an opportunity for an experienced Cost Analyst, to join the Caterpillar team.
About the Position:
Cost Analysts are team members who may bring with them multiple capabilities and/or subject matter expertise in a specific area. This position is an individual contributor on team working on deliverables/duties that may include extensive analysis and reporting, project management process improvement, process development, and process execution.
The primary responsibilities for this position will be to (but not limited to):
- Leads the collection and analysis of data, works with team members to resolve errors, explains changes and recommends actions to resolve problems.
- Provides analysis and recommendations needed to increase accuracy and execution velocity to be successful in implementing projects on time, with in cost, and meeting targets.
- Creates reports for team to efficiently communicate accurate project and/or operational performance level information.
- Reporting directly to the Business Operations Manager and will be accountable for reviewing cost and other performance KPIs related to specific strategies from both Category and Product Supply at the Facility level to create a competitive advantage for our customers.
- Participates in and/or leads team meetings and is prepared to provide information to ensure meetings are timely, efficient, and follow agenda. Works with leader to ensure outcomes are consistent with goals.
- Responsible to provide support as assigned to execute processes and/or deliver project assignments. In addition this level would take a larger role in self-directing his or her own work.
- Work assignments may be specialized in nature but may also be broad based with coordination between other staff personnel to complete a larger project.
- This role also takes a leadership role in coordination and collaboration events and meetings.
Must have ability to work with people from many different backgrounds and cultures, internally and externally, with the appropriate influence and ability to resolve differences. Good human relations skills are required to develop a collaborative, cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the business unit. Generally, requires extensive analysis to understand regional or worldwide business conditions.
Required Skill and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience required.
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills, good analytical and organizational skills.
- Must be a self-starter, team player and have the ability to multitask effectively.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
