We are currently seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our team as a Store Assistantat Ju Eng Home for Senior Citizens. As a member of our support staff, the Store Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our facility by managing inventory, overseeing deliveries, and maintaining a well-organized and stocked storage area.
Key Responsibilities Areas
Inventory Management:
- Receive, inspect, and document all incoming deliveries.
- Update the inventory management system with accurate stock information.
- Conduct routine stock counts and reconcile variances.
Order Processing:
- Collaborate with department heads to understand stock needs.
- Generate and submit purchase orders to approved suppliers.
- Monitor order status, track deliveries, and resolve any discrepancies.
Storage and Organization:
- Safely store and organize supplies, equipment, and materials.
- Implement and maintain a systematic storage arrangement for ease of access.
- Enforce and adhere to a first-in, first-out (FIFO) system.
Quality Control:
- Inspect and verify the quality of incoming goods.
- Report any damaged or expired items promptly to the relevant departments.
Communication:
- Liaise with department heads and staff to understand their specific stock requirements.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding orders, delivery schedules, and quality issues.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to inventory and deliveries.
- Generate regular reports on stock levels, usage, and trends for management review.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the storage and handling of supplies.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency
Other Duties:
- Collect donation in kind with driver.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or nursing home setting.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
