- Min. 'O' Level or equivalent,
- WDA approved safety coordinator course (level B)
- Certificate in BizSafe Level 2
- Environmental Control Officer (ECO) Certificate
- Min. 3 years of relevant work experience
- Experience in working with Contractors
- Good team player and adaptable to a dynamic environment
- As an added advantage:
- Certificate in BizSafe Level 4 (Develop a Workplace Safety and Health Management System Implementation Plan).
- Trained auditor on Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001)
- Responsibilities:
- · Ensure work activities are carried out in compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act and its subsidiary legislation
· Implement Mero’s Project Environmental, Health and Safety Plan
· Liaise with Clients’ safety team in managing overall site safety
· Assist in the maintenance of Mero’s Safety Management System to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards and BizSafe Star certification.
· Assist in conducting the Monthly Safety Committee meetings
· Assist with safety program implementation at the workplaces towards safety culture development.
· Assist the Project Managers in safety enforcement and the achievement of WSH targets and objectives
· Liaise closely with staff / Managers / Government Regulatory Authorities and clients on all EHS Matters.
· Conduct periodic safety inspection of workplaces and review Risk Assessments to ensure continued adequacy and effectiveness
· Carry out incident investigations and propose corrective actions to be implemented
· Inspect and rectify any unsafe practices and conditions at workplaces.
· Lead the contractors in the implementation of Company’s safety systems to promote the safe conduct of the Works
· Maintain and update safety related documentation and records
· Assist to organise WSH campaign and safety related activities
