ACCOUNTABILITY:
This role is accountable for managing the Fuels product portfolio, guiding the strategic direction and driving the profitable growth of the Fuels business by delivering sustainable winning value propositions for markets and customers in Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Australia. It’s an individual contributor role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Line Management
- Develop, communicate and implement the regional product line strategy
- Lead the Fuels product positioning activities in support of customers’ business plan
- Provide marketing management (product, pricing, promotion) in designated end use
- Provide input and implement product line complexity management plans for the region
- Support Product Development and Commercialization Excellence and proactively manage the Fuels product portfolio
Sales and Technical Support
- Work with the regional Sales team to achieve the annual sales plan, incorporating technical projects as needed
- Provide Fuels product line support to Lubrizol Sales with customer visits, presentations, product and technical training
- Understand customer and competitor’s value propositions, strengths and weaknesses and identify threats; convert market changes into opportunities for growth
- Gain market info to guide new product development strategies
- Maintain opportunity list for region and drive activity necessary to gain business
- Manage projects, involving colleagues from a range of departments and locations from initiation to successful and timely completion
- Develop estimates and project scope independently (objectives, milestones, resources, and economics)
- Accurately collate, analyze and interpret data from laboratory and mechanical testing
REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:
Education & Professional Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or engineering
- 5-8 years in technical, commercial and product management roles, preferably in fuels additives
- Candidates having other qualifications with experience & proven track record in related positions may also be considered
Knowledge & Skills:
- Commercial and marketing skills including product positioning, strategic and value pricing
- Knowledge of customers, OEMs, competitors, and the market drivers in the Fuels market
- Be proactive and exercise high initiative
- Ability to establish strong relationships and to work within a matrix organization
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Willingness to travel (20%)
