• To advise management on the requirements and compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health
Act (WSHA) and other subsidiary legislations (including Risk Management and Incident Reporting, etc.
• To check compliance with in-house WSH rules and procedures.
• To inspect and discuss findings on the equipment or procedures that may cause risk of bodily injury to workers working within the premises and advise on their remedial actions.
• To investigate and assist the supervisors in the investigation of any workplace accident and advise on the remedial measures to be taken to prevent any recurrence.
• To assist management in promoting Workplace Safety and Health awareness among workers by organizing campaigns, training courses, competitions, etc.
• To act as the Secretary in the monthly WSH Committee Meeting, prepare minutes of meeting.
• To compile endorsed WSH minutes of meetings for future reference.
• To work closely with the relevant authorities (e.g. Ministry Of Manpower/Occupational Safety and Health Division) on safety and health matters.
• To administer and implement an effective Workplace Safety and Health Management System (WSHMS) in accordance with prevailing legislation; and
• To assist appointed risk management team in the review of risk assessments.
