About Us

Dyson NPI Operations are looking to appoint a Head of Programme Management who will report directly to the Global Operations Director New Product Introduction.


The role will be based in Singapore and is responsible for the programme to deliver all Dyson New product introductions from the idea stage, Target Set (TS) to Start of Production (SOP).


In the past five years, Dyson has quadrupled output from four million to 25 million units and the strategy is to double again by 2025 This increase in production is also accompanied by an increase in manufacturing complexity as new products incorporate new proprietary IP and emerging technology.


The Head of Programme Management, working directly with the Heads of Operations, will drive the programme to deliver the new product introductions across all Dyson categories to support the future growth rate of production innovation and introduction.


About the role

Programme

  • Define and align project, process and people changes required to support the Product Unit structure and deliver projects with maximum efficiency.
  • Build a project management office, appropriate in scale, to embed new ways of working across the product Units.
  • Leads the more complex cross functional initiatives, workshops and off-site sessions as appropriately required.
  • Represents NPI Operations in business forums as required.
  • Collaborates with the Operations Optimisation team to feedback to existing processes, partnering with them to define the introduction of new tools, processes, data management and reporting methods

Day to Day:

  • Construct and operate the daily, weekly and monthly NPI Operations delivery transformation calendar.
  • Chair regular cross functional operations programme execution meetings to ensure responsible people are committed to executing on the identified work packages through a senior forum.
  • Chair strategic meetings to resolve the highest portfolio risks and ad hoc business requests, ensuring single clear direction and alignment across Global Supply Chain Operations.
  • Filter risk escalation at the portfolio level, driving resolution back into projects or escalation to senior operations leadership appropriately.
  • Drive for stronger, consistent cross functional collaboration, alignment, and successful project outcomes.

Project Management

  • Builds a Functional home for the operations Project managers, providing a career framework, training and development plans across the product units
  • Ensure consistent generation & implementation of high quality cross functional plans for all projects across the product units

Resource Management

  • Ensures resource planning within NPI Ops and across the operations functions is accurate, enabling visibility of all headcount demand and allocation.
  • Centralises headcount planning and recruitment for quality and consistency.
  • Maps the function's capability and capacity. Aligns the functions growth with the forecasted category product range plans. Performs resource data analysis to forward plan headcount & skills shortfalls.

People Development

  • Defines, documents and communicates product unit team structures, career frameworks, high performance and role development plans

Budget Management

  • Consolidates OPEX budgets to deliver the Product Unit portfolio

Governance

  • Defines how operations deliverables are delivered (identifying & remedying capability gaps) and ensures consistent adoption & adherence to established tools & processes as established by the Operations optimization team

Target Management

  • Translate and allocate the top down GSCO annual targets into prioritised, deliverable, time bound initiatives specific to NPI Operations.

Partner Management

  • Partner with the UK Operations Programme manager(s) to prepare Global Supply Chain Operations to receive future projects at the correct maturity and quality, and forward plan strategic operations projects for new to Dyson products and categories driven by the Heads of Operations.
  • Forward plans internal project and people transfer (where required) for clear ownership of projects between NPI Ops and Sustaining Operations.

About you

  • Degree/Post Graduate Degree in Engineering, Business management or Supply Chain.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification and demonstrated application of the methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills Experience in using data driven insights to drive decision making.
  • Ability to think strategically and translate organizational goals into actionable plans.
  • •Ability to navigate and mitigate resistance to change and foster a culture of innovation
  • Effective communicator, capable of effectively communicating complex programmes to both technical and non technical stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Critical thinking: Capable of identifying the problem, evaluating the options and make the key decisions on how to progress to an effective outcome.
  • Strong ability to “Zoom in and out”, hence, thinking at strategic C level and be able to know the details of operations simultaneously.
