Our client, a well-known company is looking for candidates for the position of Regional Finance Manager.
- The Regional (Senior) Finance Manager will be primarily responsible to oversee and manage the full spectrum of finance, accounting, tax and planning activities in Yanmar International Singapore Pte Ltd (YIS).
- To provide progressive and coordinated Finance and Accounting support to specified Yanmar subsidiaries in Asia region.
- To develop and implement strategic Finance and Accounting initiatives and transformation projects as a regional finance HQ function, for achieving Group and business objectives.
Job Scope:
- Be a business partner to subsidiary business leaders, finance and accounting members. To engage in every aspect of the business organization and offer insights and points of view beyond just Finance and Accounting.
- Examine, develop and implement strategic Finance and Accounting initiatives in accordance to finance group mid-term plan and transformation projects as a regional finance HQ function.
People management and development. Build finance capabilities and skills to increase efficiency and the value add of the finance functions in YIS and across Asia region.
Additional value-added initiatives or ad-hoc projects. - Establish a set of clear and consistent Finance and Accounting policies and practices, to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the finance organization including internal controls in compliance with corporate objectives and government standards.
- Work closely with Yanmar Holdings (YHD) Finance and Accounting Division to ensure finance programs and policies that are being created support business needs.
- Manage finance projects such as acquisition, spin out, redeployment, merger, joint venture.
- Spear controllership in operational activities and risks in relation to finance and accounting, treasury and order management for smooth operation that demonstrates high standard of accuracy.
- Review, evaluate financial statements, reports, and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with corporate policy and statutory compliance. Analyze, simulate and recommend preventive countermeasures to safeguard financial position.
- Lead and review forecasting and budgetary planning and reporting.
- Manage year end audit process, impairment assessment and attend to audit queries, for timely sign off of audited accounts.
- Develop and implement optimized tax strategies, provide insight on tax implication and tax risk area in supporting business initiatives. Manage accurate and timely taxes filing (corporate tax, GST, withholding tax, transfer pricing documentation, etc), and ensuring tax compliance.
- Oversee treasury activities such as cash funds, foreign exchange, debt and capital management, consider optimized options and funding sources for cost-effectiveness. Actively safeguard the company financial and perform risk management by analyzing the transactional activities.
- Recommend financial advice or analysis when making investments. The work may include designing investment framework, industry analysis, financial modeling and due diligence.
- Provide guidance and leadership in developing or enhancing accounting policies and internal controls, drive operational excellence and efficiency.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- The Regional (Senior) Finance Manager will be responsible for leading the Finance and Planning Division in YIS to accomplish all the divisional goals and responsibilities.
- Provide coaching / mentoring, support and develop skills to the members in YIS and other group companies in the region.
- Manage performance by setting clear goals, follow up and provide feedback to subordinates on their performance progress.
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting or related field in Finance. CA is preferred.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in finance and accounting, including tax, with sound strategic planning and management experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in APAC with multinational organizations, particularly Japanese MNCs.
- Good knowledge of financial and accounting, tax regulatory compliance in Singapore.
- Experience in acquisition, spin out, redeployment, merger.
- Strong people management skill / experience.
- Prior experience in Manufacturing or Machinery Industry will be an added advantage.
- Fluent in both spoken and written English.
- Ability to lead, organize and motivate subordinates. Takes ownership and responsibility for actions and decisions made and ensures proper follow-up is taken.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to express oneself clearly in conversations, interactions and business writing with others.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with employees at all levels within the company and with external parties (e.g. partners, clients, vendors etc.).
- Having a high sense of integrity, transparency and accountability in all work tasks and interactions with others. Must be able to work with and handle highly confidential data.
- Detailed, well-organized and able to multi-task and manage multiple projects at the same time, prioritizing required actions accordingly to meet required deadlines.
- Strong drive to remain focused, self-motivated and committed to completing or achieving tasks.
- Ability to understand the proper allocation of resources for the purpose of getting things done within a defined timeframe.
- Meticulous and pays attention to details to ensure minimum errors in work.
- Be cost conscious and aware of divisional contribution to company profitability.
- Must be able to travel overseas if required.
