A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (A*STAR ID Labs) is seeking a Research Officer to join us in our mission to be a leading Centre of Infectious Diseases research. A*STAR ID Labs aims to develop a cohesive A*STAR response to drive and deliver translational infectious diseases research to better health and economic outcomes.
Job Description
- Candidate will be working with mouse research models. This includes breeding, maintenance care and regular quality screening for both wildtype and transgenic colonies.
- Conduct laboratory experiments, sample collections, processing and perform data analysis for industry/research studies using mouse models.
- Perform meticulous recordkeeping of animal inventory and sample data reports.
- Maintain organized laboratory inventory, ensuring adequate supplies.
- Ensure strict adherence to laboratory, IACUC protocols and safety practices.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Infectious Diseases, Immunology or related field as above
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience or candidates with relevant academic experience are welcome to apply
- Experience with cell culture, mouse models, animal studies, cell biology, cellular and molecular techniques, microscopy, handling with BSL-2 pathogens will be an asset.
- Strong background in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics and Genomics
- Highly motivated and able to work independently.
- Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
- Team player with good interpersonal skills
- Good spoken and written communication skills
