Early Intervention Teacher

In line with HeadStart for Life’s vision and mission to help every child grow without barriers, we are looking for an Early Intervention (EI) teachers who have the passion in educating children in areas of cognition, communication, motor and sensory processing, as well as self-help skills in our Early Intervention Programme – Breaking Barriers. The EI teacher should aim to help each child achieve his/her maximum potential using any necessary support, modifications and accommodations.


Responsibilities of the Early Intervention Teacher:

· To be familiar with the AEPS curriculum and is able to administer the assessment components.

· Develop effective Individualized Educational Plan (IEP), using the AEPS curriculum, together with a transdisciplinary team to implement individualized goals for each child and help each child achieve his/her maximum potential using any necessary support and accommodations.

· Required to conduct group sessions for children from 2 to 9 years of age who will be grouped according to their abilities.

· Write reports after reviewing and evaluating each child’s progress periodically

· Serve as a case manager for the children assigned to them.

· Conduct and facilitate meetings with parents and staff regarding intervention and makes necessary adjustments to the plan as needed throughout the year.


Required qualifications:

· Holds an accredited Advanced Diploma/Bachelor in Early Intervention/ Special Education

· Has a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a special school setting or in a public or private intervention centres

· Has experience in writing IEP, lesson plans and progress reports

· Has experience using AEPS model of intervention

· Has a high level of interpersonal, spoken and written communication skills

· Has the ability to work in a team with both internal and external professionals

· Possesses good initiative and attitude.
