POSITION DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide oversight on daily laboratory activities.
- Assist in daily technical management of the Haematology / Chemistry / Blood Transfusion Services section
- Perform quality control checks to ensure test results are precise and accurate.
- Evaluate any test or equipment where applicable.
- Ensure preventive maintenance requirements are met.
- Maintaining equipment inventories, anticipating supplies, verifying receipt of supplies.
- Monitor the performance of all equipment and review of test result
- Resolve any technical issues that arise from the performance of all test
- Maintaining inventory levels of reagents and supplies to achieve operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Prepare monthly QC and perform first level review
- Evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Adheres to standard operating procedures applicable in the pre-analytical, analytical and post analytical procedures in the laboratory.
- Ensure all laboratory procedures are carried out in accordance to MOH regulations and accreditation body guidelines.
- Ensure compliance on quality standards, procurement policies and procedures.
- Keeps abreast of current MOH standards and other accreditation body standards
- Ad-hoc duties as and when assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Biomedical Science, Life Sciences or its equivalent
- Minimum 2 years experiences in CAP accredited Clinical Laboratory in Singapore in one of the section: Routine Clinical Haematology/Clinical Chemistry/Blood transfusion services.
- Must be able to work on rotating shift up to 12 hours (average 44 hours per work week), including Saturday, Sundays and Public Holidays
- Good command of English communications and interpersonal skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
