Roles and Responsibilities
- Review of Material Test certificates, verifying technical specification of received materials based on Project requirement (Purchase Order requirements) and compliance to ASME code requirements.
- To carry out receiving Inspection of piping materials such as valves, strainers, pipes, gaskets, bolts, nuts and all types fittings as per purchase order requirement, approved procedure & data sheet. Document inspection activities, to raise NCR’s / CAR’s (Non-Conformance report & Corrective Action Requests) as required.
- Generate RFI for client/owner inspection. Discrepancy item prepare OSD&N report and inform vendor/supplier QC for clearing issues.
- To conduct surveillance inspections for material preservations i.e. checking material preservation requirements & compliance to project preservations requirements, to raise CAR / NCR, thereby alerting, enforcing Material department if such requirements not followed / contaminations observed
- Monitoring Pre heating, Post heating, PWHT, Hardness checking, PMI checking & Pneumatic Testing
- Arranging Tool box talk & ensuring preparation of Job Safety Analysing (JSA).
- Managing Permit to Work (PTW).
- Periodic Review of Training Requirements of crew based on Training Schedule.
- Ensuring adequate availability of resources (tools/equipment/manpower).
- Planning & Schedule Review Meeting with Supervisors based on Work Pack assigned.
- Ensuring availability of latest AFC drawing & older revisions removed.
- Daily Progress Report preparation based on inputs from supervisors.
- Ensuring that task is performed in line with that manhours & schedule assigned in the Work Pack.
- Attending daily progress meeting with Construction Manager.
- Attending interface meeting with other disciplines like Painting/Insulation, E&I, Civil etc.
- Coordination with Vendor when required for installation of specialised vendor equipment.
- Day to day interaction with HSE, Quality teams to ensure any HSE or Quality issues noted are promptly addressed.
- Liaising with Engineering Team for site technical issues.
- Attending Monthly/Weekly meeting with Client.
- Following up for timely resolution of Mechanical Completion (MC)
- Well versed with interpretation of all NDT methods for various applicable standards
- Monitoring performance in production welding
Minimum Competence Requirements Education
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, those who match experience requirements may be considered.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experiences and above for field in Construction related to Oil & gas Refinery, LNG, Petrochemical, Power plant & Pharmaceuticals projects.
- Key Skills
- Fabrication & Erection of piping system. Have handled pipe sizes upto 46” dia, Slug catcher, Fire water line pressure testing & materials like Carbon Steel (CS), Stainless Steel (SS) & Low Alloy Steels (LAS).
- Fabrication & Erection of offshore structures (Jacket & Decks) & onshore structures (pipe racks, modules).
- Installation & Alignment of static & rotating equipment like skids, vessels, exchangers, pumps etc. Involved in installation of working platforms & ladders of 102m height Xylene Splitter, 42 tonne Fin Fan assembly & installation.
- Navisworks, SPR (Smart Plant Review)
