Job Purpose
APL Logistics Technology Service Group is seeking an achievement-oriented and self-motivated candidate with proven track record to fulfil key role and responsibilities in APLL Core Consolidation Services Application (Freight Management System)
This position is responsible for delivering the design and solution architecture of the Consolidation Services Application’s functionalities and build services, interface systems and projects.
The person should come with a strong technical background, hands on technical analysis (interfaces, data, application functionalities) and wealth knowledge of Logistics or Supply Chain Industry to provide innovative solutions to challenges that may arise.
Technical management and good understanding of APCA architecture framework and IDMS, proprietary software with some configurations in Assembler language (will be advantageous). Recommend area of improvement for internal/integration with applications.
In addition, the person should display both ability and willingness to take on business analysis (requirement gathering, as-is/to-be process mapping), fronting as Application subject matter expert in design IT solution to fulfill the Customer/Business requirement
The candidate should be able to bring along a broad spectrum of good project / technical management practises.
This position will report directly to Manage and will work closely with internal group IT members, outsourcing vendors, business partners, and various internal business teams.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Key personnel of Core application / Order Management System as full pledged subject matter expert
• Technical support of APCA framework
• Oversee the end to end IT business application delivery, change impact analysis , development and support especially in new wins of customers.
• Strong ability to lead a team and ensure high levels of quality, compliance and adherence to governance throughout the application life cycle of a project
• Collaborate with IT teams, users, stakeholders and outsource service providers, to prioritize and ensure on time delivery of effective and innovative solutions
• Render expert opinions and technical guidance in software engineering and application architecture.
• Engage IT management promptly for issues escalation and resolution.
• Refine and improve processes within the unit so that higher quality and faster deliverables can be achieved through lower cost.
• Handle activities like incident management, problem management, release management, root cause analysis, deployment and monitoring.
• Strong problem solving skill
Qualification
• Degree in Computer Science or related disciplines or equivalent work experience
Requirements
Experience
• At least 5 years’ experience as a Solution Architect or equivalent role
• 5 - 10 years involved in IT SDLC/ Agile ,Project and Technical Management in Logistics domain and Supply Chain Industry
• Proven track record in leading and interact with multiple stakeholders/IT teams to gather business requirements/projects and confirm solution design collectively to deliver results.
• Working Knowledge in freight forwarding / consolidation and/or 3rd Party Logistics industry will be advantages, particularly in Order and Freight Management
• Hands-on approach to problem solving, attention to detail and creative solution design
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Superior analytical, and problem resolution skills

Skill Sets
• Possess strong technical expertise in a multi-technology platform environment
Proficient in at least 3 or more technical areas below
- Experience in designing, building and managing Java applications
Technologies: Digital Signing Services, J2EE, Java Script, C#, WebService,
SOAP/REST API/XML services, WebSphere, DB2, SQL, and Scripting language
Frameworks: Java Spring Boot, Angular, Spring MVC, JSF, Struts, Hibernate
- Experience working with reporting tools such as Actuate, Webfocus,
- Working knowledge with Oracle BPM, Dremio, Oracle DB and
- Portal – Websphere Portal
- ETL Tool - Informatica, SSIS, Oracle Golden Gate
- RPA, Mobile technologies, Cloud Services
Legacy application (Advantageous)
- Cobol programming language in Micofocus-Linux technologies
- Assembler knowledge to support proprietary architecture (APCA) within APLL
- IDMS/PL/SQL to Oracle Database
- Middleware implementation in Micofocus-Linux technologies. Knowhow mechanics of operation tools such as Automic, VPSx/LRS
