Job Description: ICT Training Instructor
Position Overview:Wellington Primary School is seeking a dynamic and experienced ICT Training Instructor to lead and implement the ICT Training Programme for Primary 1 to Primary 6 students and the Info Comm Club. The instructor will work collaboratively with the Head of Department (HOD) and Subject Head (SH) ICT to design and execute an engaging and comprehensive ICT curriculum.
Duration of Service:
- Initial Contract Period:Start Date: 19 Feb 2024 or date of issuance of Letter of Acceptance, whichever is later.
End Date: 31 Dec 2024 or adjusted according to the actual start date.
- Option Period:Start Date: 1 Jan 2025.
End Date: 31 Dec 2025 (Option may be exercised prior to the expiry of the current Contract Period).
Working Hours:
- Mondays to Fridays, as per the specified training schedule for each term.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with HOD and SH ICT to plan and execute a comprehensive ICT programme for Primary 1 to Primary 6 students.
- Conduct baseline ICT training for all students, tailored to the school's objectives and curriculum.
- Provide skillset training for Inter-disciplinary Project Work (IPW) if required (e.g., poster making, mobile app learning).
- Compile students’ ICT projects for showcase and assess end products for quality.
- Conduct Google Apps training for all students.
- Develop resources to enhance teaching and learning of coding tools for the Applied Learning Programme.
- Guide and assist with lunch period exhibitions of completed projects by students during ALP lessons.
- Conduct termly exhibitions with each level, showcasing coded devices and other end products.
- Train and guide Info Comm Club students on game creation, coding, AI concepts, and computational thinking.
- Conduct InfoComm Club training sessions, estimated at 12 hours per term.
- Guide students to participate in Infocomm-related competitions and game creation competitions.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Relevant educational qualifications in ICT or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and executing ICT training programmes for primary school students.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, coding, and game creation.
- Strong knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts and Computational Thinking (CT).
- Familiarity with audiovisual (AV) technology.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to guide students effectively in Infocomm-related competitions.
Contractual Terms:
- The Instructor will work closely with HOD and SH ICT to align the ICT programme with school objectives.
- The option to extend the contract for an additional year is subject to the Authority's discretion.
