Key Responsibilities
- Independent execution of physical shipments including vessel monitoring, issuing letters of credit, vessel nomination, shipping advice, insurance declaration, discharge/load port agent appointment, load/discharge operations.
- Manage trade finance activities; to issue import letters of credit to suppliers and ensure fully operative import letters of credit are in place for prompt receipt of payments.
- Identify opportunities to optimize positions – maximizing/minimizing cargo lifts, changing laycans/load dates, rolling hedges as appropriate.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with internal stakeholders and external parties such as customers, suppliers, surveyors and other business partners.
- Prepare and review import and export documents for smooth customs clearance.
- Ensure accuracy of trade capture and review contractual terms.
- Attend to accounting, audit, and compliance-related enquiries.
- Recognize (potential) issues and risks and report them.
- Resolve shipment issues independently while escalating more complex issues to Team Lead and/or Execution Manager
Required Education, Experience and Skills
- Minimum a bachelor's degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related discipline
- At least 5 years of relevant experience with a large commodity trading company, executing Edible & Soft Oils, Grains, Oilseeds and/or any other bulk commodities.
- Excellent knowledge of governing contracts (PORAM, FOSFA, GAFTA, ANEC) , UCP and Incoterms
- Experienced with Trade Structured Finance and Letters of Credit
- Knowledge of charterparty terms and laytime.
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail with commercial acumen to provide solutions to business challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to build and maintain relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
- Possess Team spirit and able to work independently in a dynamic environment.
- Good knowledge of computer skills and competency in Microsoft office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
