The Instrument Technician will be based in Shell Jurong Island (SJI) Maintenance Department. The primary role is to execute Instrument maintenance to the optimum level of performance for safe, reliable and efficient operation of the plant. The role holder is to provide hands on maintenance to ensure a safe, cost-effective and efficient day-to-day maintenance services on instruments.
Accountabilities of the role are:
1) Compliance to HSSE standards and requirements to make Shell Jurong Island (SJI) a safe place to work, and accountable for all assigned Critical activities.
2) Perform Authorized Applicant/Authorized Engineer as per SJI ePermit to Work (ePTW) requirement.
3) Drive high standard of personal accountability & performance to deliver the Site & Department goals and target.
4) Execution of all instrumentation (IQ) maintenance activities as assigned according to plan and schedule as provided by planner and scheduler. Provide update as and when required.
5) Execute day-to-day maintenance activities including contractor/specialistmanagement as assigned from end-to-end basis to enable high equipment reliability & plant availability. Update maintenance records, investigation findings & prepare relevant reports
6) Provide feedback on effectiveness of planning for the Corrective and preventive maintenance for site reliability improvement. Support in Bad actor management.
7) In order to ensure SJI’s assets operate safely & reliably, without suffering any process safety incident or causing life-changing events to person(s), the staff is accountable to ensure compliance to those Critical Activities assigned for the Job Position.
8) Provide support for Turnaround execution in related Process Units (PUs).
9) Plan and execute instrumentation related works depending on the technician level (L6 – L9) as specified below in the job knowledge skill and experience column.
10) Use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in compliance with the global maintenance and business processes.
11) Attend standby callout to the Emergency work upon request.
12) Carry out any other related duties as required.
Qualifications required are:
· Diploma/ITE or equivalent in Instrumentation / Electrical Engineering
· 1-5 years relevant experience in Instrument and Controls construction/ installation in oil & gas, chemical & petrochemical industry.
· Experience working in plant environment would be advantageous
· Holder of SWSHPP /OPSOC (Supervisor) certification for petrochemical industry
· Qualified MOM Manhole (Supervisor) and confined space entrant
· Qualified WAH (preferred)
