This position will be based at any one of NIEC’s campuses, namely ITE Campus (Ang Mo Kio), Ngee Ann Polytechnic Campus and Temasek Polytechnic Campus.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and/or co-design a new module or review/improve a current module in collaboration with NIEC HQ, in tandem with industry development and in line with module and course objectives
- Design and adopt innovative pedagogy, keeping abreast with technological developments to achieve module outcomes and quality delivery of the module
- Deliver lessons according to module objectives, learning design and lesson instructional plans as provided by NIEC HQ
- Supervise class assignments/projects/practicum/internship
- Mark and monitor class performance, give informative and constructive feedback to classes on their learning
- Monitor the Module/Course Evaluation Survey for quality indicator for improvements
- Adopt and apply the assessment strategies and requirements for module assignments according to NIEC and Polytechnic assessment guidelines
- Act as a class advisor/mentor for tutorial groups to provide necessary information and support (e.g. refer person for financial assistance, counselling)
- Handle/follow-up with disciplinary issues in consultation and in collaboration with Module Leaders/Course Chairs/Course Leads, when necessary
- Attend academic meetings, and training / complete exam processing and invigilation
- Be involved in committees/projects, as assigned
Job Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related post-graduate qualifications (to teach Diploma courses)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related post-graduate qualifications (to teach Certificate courses)
- At least 5 years of teaching experience in the early childhood industry
- Background and experience in Early Years / Inclusive Practice / Special Needs / Mother Tongue languages / Music / Visual Art will be advantageous
- IT savvy and has experience in using online teaching tools
- Meticulous, self-initiated, responsive and adaptable
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work collaboratively
Note: All new hires will be offered a two-year contract in the first instance. Contract renewal and emplacement on permanent appointment will be subject to continuous good performance.
