This position will be based at any one of NIEC’s campuses, namely ITE Campus (Ang Mo Kio), Ngee Ann Polytechnic Campus and Temasek Polytechnic Campus.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and/or co-design a new module or review/improve a current module in collaboration with NIEC HQ, in tandem with industry development and in line with module and course objectives
  • Design and adopt innovative pedagogy, keeping abreast with technological developments to achieve module outcomes and quality delivery of the module
  • Deliver lessons according to module objectives, learning design and lesson instructional plans as provided by NIEC HQ
  • Supervise class assignments/projects/practicum/internship
  • Mark and monitor class performance, give informative and constructive feedback to classes on their learning
  • Monitor the Module/Course Evaluation Survey for quality indicator for improvements
  • Adopt and apply the assessment strategies and requirements for module assignments according to NIEC and Polytechnic assessment guidelines
  • Act as a class advisor/mentor for tutorial groups to provide necessary information and support (e.g. refer person for financial assistance, counselling)
  • Handle/follow-up with disciplinary issues in consultation and in collaboration with Module Leaders/Course Chairs/Course Leads, when necessary
  • Attend academic meetings, and training / complete exam processing and invigilation
  • Be involved in committees/projects, as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related post-graduate qualifications (to teach Diploma courses)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related post-graduate qualifications (to teach Certificate courses)
  • At least 5 years of teaching experience in the early childhood industry
  • Background and experience in Early Years / Inclusive Practice / Special Needs / Mother Tongue languages / Music / Visual Art will be advantageous
  • IT savvy and has experience in using online teaching tools
  • Meticulous, self-initiated, responsive and adaptable
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work collaboratively

Note: All new hires will be offered a two-year contract in the first instance. Contract renewal and emplacement on permanent appointment will be subject to continuous good performance.
