Job Title: Private Banker - China or Southeast Asia


Job Summary: As a Private Banker specializing in China or Southeast Asia, your primary responsibility will be to develop and manage a portfolio of high-net-worth clients, providing them with tailored financial solutions and personalized wealth management advice. You will work closely with clients to understand their financial goals, risk tolerance, and investment preferences in order to deliver exceptional service and achieve their objectives. Additionally, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, as well as collaborating with internal teams to ensure the smooth execution of client transactions and the delivery of comprehensive financial services.

Responsibilities:

  1. Client Relationship Management:Build and maintain long-term relationships with high-net-worth individuals and families in China or Southeast Asia.
    Understand clients' financial goals, risk profiles, and investment preferences to provide customized wealth management solutions.
    Regularly review and assess clients' financial portfolios, making appropriate adjustments based on changing market conditions and client needs.
    Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.
  2. Business Development:Identify and pursue new business opportunities by actively networking and prospecting for potential clients.
    Leverage existing relationships and personal networks to expand the client base.
    Collaborate with marketing and product teams to develop strategies for targeting specific client segments and geographic markets.
    Participate in industry events and conferences to enhance visibility and promote the bank's services.
  3. Portfolio Management and Investment Advisory:Design and implement customized investment strategies based on clients' financial objectives and risk profiles.
    Conduct in-depth research and analysis of investment opportunities, staying updated on market trends and regulatory changes.
    Monitor portfolio performance, making necessary adjustments to ensure alignment with clients' goals and risk tolerances.
    Provide comprehensive investment advice and guidance to clients, explaining complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  4. Collaboration and Compliance:Collaborate with internal teams, such as investment advisors, legal, and compliance, to ensure seamless execution of client transactions and compliance with regulatory requirements.
    Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, transaction documentation, and compliance-related information.
    Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices pertaining to private banking services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field (a master's degree is a plus).
  • Extensive experience (typically 7+ years) in private banking or wealth management, with a focus on China or Southeast Asia.
  • Strong track record of successfully managing and growing a portfolio of high-net-worth clients.
  • Excellent knowledge of investment products, financial markets, and wealth management strategies.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese or other relevant local languages is highly preferred.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
  • Demonstrated business development skills and ability to generate new business leads.
  • Sound understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks within the private banking industry.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or CFP (Certified Financial Planner) are advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.
