The role of a Special Projects and Program Development Lead signifies a newly established position within our organization. We are seeking an individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to formulate strategic development plans through projects, aiming to enhance the organization's current operations and improve efficiency. The ideal candidate should also possess a background in project management or have prior experience in strategic management roles.
As Special Projects and Program Development Lead, you will be responsible for reviewing, planning, developing, and implementing programs and activities for seniors across the Senior Care Centre, Active Ageing Centre, and Sheltered Home. This role involves conducting assessments to measure and enhance program relevance and effectiveness. The position requires spearheading innovative and unique projects.
Main Responsibilities:
Program Development:
- Review existing services and initiate new programmes/activities in collaboration with local agencies, non-profits, educational institutions, and government agencies.
- Lead efforts to identify needs and service gaps, contributing to the development or modification of programs.
- Identify new programs and activities relevant and beneficial for seniors by tracking developments to understand changing needs and interests.
- Initiate, co-design, and develop programmes and activities through strategic collaborations with government agencies and community partners.
- Research, identify, and evaluate grant availability, submitting applications to support program priorities and objectives.
Special Projects Management:
- Define new operational strategies, working with Management and other relevant staff on special projects
- Handle and manage all special projects from to development through successful execution
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Considerable knowledge of the aging process, needs, and problems of older adults, along with various methods and techniques to assist them.
- In-depth knowledge of aging and social services delivery programs.
- Skills in facilitating and collaborating with varied agencies, non-profits, and stakeholders.
- Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Grant writing abilities.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with seniors, government agencies, community partners, and caregivers.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to listen and make presentations.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Compile relevant statistics, perform after-action reviews, and recommend improvements to the program, leveraging technology for records management.
- Assist in organization-wide initiatives and projects to achieve organizational development and excellence.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Gerontology, Social Service, or a related field.
- Over 2 years of previous experience.
- Strong collaboration skills with experience partnering with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
- Professional maturity with an ability to navigate sensitive conversations and subject matter effectively and discreetly.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple priorities and projects.
- Enthusiastic, patient, outgoing, compassionate, mature, and responsible.
- The successful candidate will be appointed to a position commensurate with his/her experience.
