The massive scale and heavy engagement of the people using our products make the Facebook ads platform a powerful growth vehicle for businesses and other marketers. It also makes the platform an ideal place to drive cutting edge analysis to develop innovative marketing strategies in the new mobile and value first world. The successful candidate will focus on investigating and understanding the current products and solutions for advertising on Facebook as well as using data science to discover new strategies. They will also be focused on consulting with advertisers, partnering with our sales stakeholders, and sharing their findings with internal and external audiences. The team works with advertisers across various tiers and segments to test hypotheses, develop strategies, and educate on the best ways to optimize performance.
The team is made up of data scientists with diverse work experiences and professional backgrounds. The ideal candidate for this position will have a proven track record of analyzing and deriving insights from data. They will be intellectually curious, a great communicator, data-driven, a fast learner, and able to move fast while keeping focused on high-impact projects. Applicants should have a strong quantitative understanding, a talent for taking complex concepts and distilling them into clear accessible learnings, be comfortable with ambiguity, and a willingness to empower and help others through sharing their knowledge.
This role will be supporting our businesses for APAC with a focus on Greater China.
This role is based in Singapore.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with large and complex data sets to solve a wide array of challenging problems using different analytical and statistical approaches.
- Apply technical expertise with quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, and the presentation of data to develop strategies for our products that serve billions of people and hundreds of millions of businesses.
- Define, understand, and test opportunities and levers to improve the product, and drive roadmaps through your insights and recommendations.
- Identify strategic levers for improving advertiser performance across Facebook's ads platform
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute product strategy and investment decisions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 7 years of work experience in analytics
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R)
- Proven experience leading data-driven projects from definition to execution: defining metrics, experiment design, communicating actionable insights
- Experience influencing and partnering with stakeholders across organizations
- Track record of operating independently, demonstrating creativity, and delivering results
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Good knowledge of Greater China because a successful candidate will be advising on business insights and driving recommendations for Greater China
- Fluency in Mandarin is preferred as the role requires engaging with stakeholders whose usual business language is Mandarin
