As a key member of the team, the Finance Manager plays a pivotal role in steering the financial direction. This position encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, including the preparation and presentation of financial reports, strategic financial planning and analysis, and effective cash flow management. The role demands a proactive approach to risk management, audit coordination, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and tax laws in Singapore and other satellite locations (Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia).
Additionally, the Finance Manager will oversee office operations, manage company assets, and serve as a primary liaison for external partnerships. This role is not just about managing numbers, but also about providing strategic insight and leadership to support the company's growth and financial health.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Financial Management
- Financial Reporting: Compile, maintain and prepare financial statements to stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, management, and board members.
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Formulate budgets, project financial outcomes, and analyse financial data to guide decision-making processes.
- Financial Decision Support: Partner with management in strategic financial decisions, ensuring alignment with the company's broader objectives.
- Cash Flow Oversight: Oversee cash flow to maintain liquidity and fulfil financial commitments.
- Accounts Management: Efficiently process customer and supplier onboarding forms; oversee accounts receivable and payable to maintain robust cash flow.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, including currency fluctuations, interest rate variations, and market instabilities.
- Audit Management: Coordinate and manage financial audits, ensuring transparent and precise financial reporting.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial laws, accounting standards, and statutory requirements in Singapore.
- Tax Compliance & Strategy: Maintain compliance with Singapore tax laws, ensuring timely and accurate tax filings, and optimize tax strategies.
- Cost Control Initiatives: Develop and implement cost-control measures to enhance financial operational efficiency.
- New Project Analysis: Assess the financial viability and risk of new initiatives.
- Technology Integration: Utilize financial technology to improve process efficiency in financial management.
Administration
- Office Operations Management: Organize office procedures, develop and enforceoffice policies to standardize operations, and oversee supply requisitions.
- Asset Management: Manage company assets, coordinating both internally and with external providers.
- Corporate Secretarial Duties: In collaboration with an external Corporate Secretary, handle corporate secretarial tasks, including managing new entities and company branches.
- Grant Applications: Prepare and submit applications for government grants and foundation sponsorships.
- External Liaison: Act as the primary contact for the organization with external entities.
REQUIREMENTS
- Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is essential.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial management or a related field. Prior experience in a Financial Planning & Analysis role is preferred.
- Experience in Startups: Candidates with experience in startup environments will be highly valued. Such experience demonstrates adaptability and the ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced settings.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, including experience in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting, are crucial. The ability to interpret and analyse financial statements and data for strategic decision-making is essential.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws in Singapore. This includes experience in compliance, tax strategy, and liaising with regulatory bodies.
- Independence and Resourcefulness: The ability to work independently and resourcefully, especially in problem-solving and implementing innovative solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
