Marine Electrical Service Engineer

Albion Marine Singapore Pte. Ltd.

The Electrical Service Engineer will be responsible for managing technical solutions for maintenance, troubleshooting and conversion projects and attending to vessels in ports.


The Marine Electrical Service Engineer contributes by executing the maintenance of electrical components of our equipment in line with company's and industry’s safety policies and regulations to ensure the optimal status of the equipment, its operability, and availability.


Responsibilities

· Attend vessels for inspections, commissioning, surveys and troubleshooting of the automation and electrical systems, boilers, scrubbers, ballast water treatment systems and other machinery.

· Deliberate with management on the requirements and procedures for project execution.

· Organize and manage EIA projects toward the fulfillment of a set objective.

· Provide EIA expertise to produce concept and detail designs for Marine/Ship/Offshore projects.

· Prepare Electrical Load Balance Calculations, Single Line Diagrams, Short Circuit Calculations, Earthing System Calculations, and Breaker Selectivity Analysis.

· Provide a selection of components like transformers, rectifiers, UPS, circuit breakers, battery system, cable selection, cable schedule, cable bulk MTO etc.

· Develop Instrument list, I/O list, systems schematics, control philosophy, control narratives, control block diagrams, cause and effect table, data sheets etc.

· Carry out troubleshooting and programming of Programmable Logic Controllers.

· Prepare Cause and Effect diagrams, Control/Safety Narrative, and Logic Diagrams.

· Interface with other discipline engineers, clients, equipment suppliers and class authorities.

Qualifications

· Degree in Electrical/Instrumentation/Automation Engineering or equivalent.

· Arc Flash & High Voltage Safety Engineer Certification is an asset.

· Programmable Logic Controller Technician Certification is an asset.

· Certified Automation Professional Certification is an asset.

· Advance Marine Electrical Technician Certification.

· Good knowledge of the shipboard safe working practices.

· 5 + years' experience in Electrical and Instrumentation/Controls Design/Service within Marine/offshore oil/gas industries.
