Open Position: Manager, Singapore office
Reports to: Partner in charge
Direct reports: Teams of 1 to 3 consultants (1 to 2 teams)
Education: Post-graduate level, overseas study experience required
Experience: 5 to 8 years in consulting industry
The manager is responsible for project delivery on time, on quality. The applicant is expected to establish durable relationship with client’s middle management and to support commercial development with existing clients by supporting the sale of follow-on projects:
- Identify follow-on opportunities
- Prepare proposals under partner’s direction
Expected skills -
Problem solving: Stretches team perspective - faster, broader, deeper insights into issues; Efficiently directs
team data gathering effort; Independently structures issue plans, has good judgment as to most effective
approach to use; Drives team in conducting efficient, high-quality analysis tailored to clients’ needs; Gains early insight, ensures actionable recommendations based on insight into client implementation skills.
Communication: Brainstorms on issues with client, probes deep on issues; Structure and prepares entire and well-structured documents with minor guidance; Makes strong impression in all oral communications; Is in command of the audience and turns presentations into constructive dialogues
Team work, team management: Balances priorities well, ensures work on track, continually searches for
opportunities to provide additional value; Leads team thinking, build team morale so as team works as a unit and team members feel they are growing; Involves all members, redirects team members as focus shifts; Actively coaches and develops team members to produce superior end products; Is widely regarded as an up and coming leader, is in demand due to ability to lead teams; Takes leadership initiative beyond immediate client project setting.
Client Impact: Designs project work process to ensure adequate client buy-in and commitment, redirects team
activities based on insights; Consistently facilitates sizable groups very effectively, can resolve conflicts and
redirect "dysfunctional" teams; Is viewed as a leader, client solicit opinions; Develops trust-based working
relationships with key client executives; Develops good insights to client culture / organization over time,
constantly seeks to understand client's goals and concerns; Identify new sales, expansion / extension, prepares content specific proposal under the supervision of the director.
Personal qualifications: Sets positive, inspirational tone for work by personal example; Maintain team /
Client energy motivation during difficult periods; Possesses excellent judgment, judgement is valued by team and client executives; Frequently thinks "out of the box" about client issues, recognized by client as source of new thinking.
