Summary
Responsible for the day-to-day healthcare of staff and students on campus.
Responsibilities
- Attend to any illness or injuries sustained by students or staff within the campus and render first aid treatment to the patient
- Arrange for emergency transport when necessary and whenever possible accompany the patient to the nearest hospital for emergency treatment. Alternatively, arrange for a responsible adult to accompany the patient to hospital
- Notify parents/guardians or next of kin of the patient’s condition and provide assistance whenever possible
- Assist parents in completing School Insurance Forms if medical costs fall under the School Insurance policy
- Complete inhouse Accident Forms for any incidents on site
- Ensure that teachers are aware of health and safety needs in their teaching area and provide training as required
- Provide and maintain a fully stocked sickbay with up-to-date supplies including but not limited to school first aid boxes for use in and out of school
- Collate and maintain an up-to-date file on all students enrolled.
- Inform parents/guardians by letter of any infectious diseases at school and their particulars such as symptoms and incubation period, in consultation with the Head of School and other senior administrators.
- Supply teachers with any information or brochure required for discussions with students
- Provide information to the community on vaccination programs available in Singapore, such as Hepatitis A & B, Tetanus, Measles, Mumps, Rubella
- Provide information to the community on tropical diseases such as Dengue, Hemorrhagic fever, Cholera, Malaria, Mycoplasma, H1N1 etc.
- Provide information to the community on medical services available in Singapore
- Support and assist with the school’s Drug Testing policy
- Support students with issues related to smoking, stress, alcohol, sleep withdrawal, eating disorders, depression etc.
- Communicate with external healthcare providers as necessary regarding student treatment
- Attend the School Swim Gala and Sports Days to provide medical coverage
- Prepare a forecast budget for the clinic annually
- Any other duties as assigned by the Academic Directors
Education/trade qualification/other requirements
- You should possess a Diploma in Nursing with a registered nurse license
- You should ideally possess 2 years of experience in Nursing
- You should be able to work at ease with people from different cultural backgrounds
- You should possess good interpersonal skills to build good rapport with students and parents
- You are a team player and are comfortable to work with all departments across the organization
