Business Development Specialist

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

The Business Development Specialist engages with the business community regularly to understand their needs and acts as a medium to promote and disseminate information on government programmes. He/she also contributes to the development of relationships with potential customers and formulates new account development strategies.

The Business Development Specialist possesses excellent communication and people management skills, communicating information effectively with various stakeholders. He/she is highly organised and detail-oriented, committed to delivering a high standard of service to the business community.

Critical Work Functions & Key Tasks

1. Market Programmes and Initiatives

  • Promote government support programs to aid employers in hiring and reskilling local PMETs through cold calling, one-on-one engagements with companies, mass outreach events, and proactive follow-up on sales leads.
  • Promote the adoption of government support programs and key initiatives among enterprises within the Federation.
  • Collaborate with partners to facilitate outreach and networking events, both online and offline marketing, aiming to boost awareness and adoption of programs and initiatives.

2. Programmes Administration

  • Perform grant administration tasks, including eligibility validation, grant disbursement management, reporting, and other administrative duties.
  • Maintain accurate records of applications, supporting documents, and inquiries, contribute to administrative processes, and offer administrative support for discussions on programs or related matters.
  • Assist in reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure service efficiency, effectiveness, and quality.

3. Manage marketing and communication channels for Programmes

  • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to create feasible and impactful event marketing campaigns and communication plans for delivering key messages.
  • Identify and work with Marketing & Communications to establish and maintain a repository of success stories

4. Manage Projects & Events

  • Manage spontaneous tasks, perform administrative responsibilities, and offer assistance for projects/events as directed by the Management.
  • Assist in coordinating membership events by overseeing administrative tasks, logistics, registration, and managing manpower.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates effective organizational abilities, skilled in prioritization, multitasking, and independent work.
  • Effective time management abilities and a proven track record of successfully handling concurrent projects.
  • Proactive with a strong initiative and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Skilled in fundamental computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Customer service experience is an advantage
