Job functions
- Monitor funds deployed for marketing/trading and optimize the cost of funding by working closely with front office;
- Advance and manage relationships with financial institutions and alternative capital providers;
- Negotiate facilities and terms of funding, supporting structured financing needs of physical commodity trading;
- Troubleshoot all trade finance related transactional issues, identify opportunities to increase automation while maintaining controls;
- Propose and implement short-term action plans in cases of over/under-utilization;
- Assist with budget preparation, and prepare weekly forecasts;
- Lead KYC processes and assist with the development of appropriate risk metrics;
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and production cost analysis of equity and non-equity production assets;
- Work closely with operations/accounts/sales, reports to MD of marketing and trading.
Qualifications
- Degree in finance or accounting or related, familiarity with bulk commodity transactions and trade finance;
- Working knowledge of UCP, incoterms, accounting standards, various structures (import/export DA/DP/LC);
- Metals and dry bulk commodity experience an advantage;
- Minimal 5 years of experience in a related field, able to lead and manage complex transactions;
- Analytical and strong logical thinker, results oriented;
- Self-driven team player, a good listener and good communicator;
- Systematic and organized, able to thrive under pressure and situational ambiguity;
- Strong communication skills with ability to drive the team positively;
- Excellent written and spoken communication in English and Chinese to liaise with counterparts;
- Ad-hoc traveling as and when required.
