Job Description
- Design of semi-submersible substructure/floater for 15MW Floating Offshore Wind Turbine (FOWT)
- Responsible for performing all structural analysis, design calculations and MTO of semi-submersible substructure/floater and steel structures
- Perform all scantling calculations for main/primary, secondary and tertiary steel structures of Marine Offshore modules
- Design and drafting of all structural drawings such as hull lines plan, structural category plan, deck loading plan, full penetration welding plan, scantling drawings, major connection scantlings etc.
- Prepare complete structural analysis reports such as lifting, sea fastening, load out, towing, scantling, fatigue and strength up to classification society approval level.
- Perform basic design and detail engineering structural drawings and reports for compliance with applicable Rules, Regulations, and contract specification commitments.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Structural, Engineering, Naval Architecture or Marine Offshore & Technology.
- At least 5 years of relevant working experience in the whole process of concept/basic design and detail engineering of Marine Offshore rig design or semi-submersible substructure design in FOWT industry.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in developing concept and basic design calculations and drawings of floater/semi-submersible to obtain Approval In Principal and Full Basic Design Approval from Classification bodies.
- Proficient in software packages such as AutoCAD, ANSYS, STAAD-PRO, DNV-NAUTILUS/SESTRA, SACS, NAPA Steel, Femap or other Finite Element Method (FEM) packages.
- Interact with customers, vendors, consultants and classification bodies to resolve design and engineering matters.
- Skills in 3D modelling in CAD/Aveva/Rhinocheros or other 3D software will be added advantage.
- Proficient in both English & Chinese language
- Ability to translate English manual to Chinese manuel vice versa
- Able to work in a team or independently with minimum supervision.
