The Centre for Quantitative Medicine (CQM) in Duke-NUS Medical School invites applications from outstanding candidates. The School embodies a strategic partnership between Duke University and National University of Singapore (NUS). It works closely with the Singapore Health Services (SingHealth) cluster, a network of national specialty disease centres, hospitals and polyclinics, to advance medicine and improve lives through cutting-edge research and education. The CQM is an academic centre for quantitative scientists and strives to bring the quantitative science and biomedical research communities together.
We invite applications for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer role in CQM. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling the administration role for Healthcare Commercial Cloud (HCC). HCC is a commercial cloud platform operating in AWS and Azure with customized infrastructure to support healthcare staff and organisations. HCC enables healthcare organisations to leverage on commercial cloud services while ensuring security compliances are met. The successful candidate will perform a variety of functions, including but not limited to the following:
- Design, develop and operate cloud security technologies, solutions and services in HCC AWS and Azure in accordance with the relevant Healthcare cloud security policies and standards, cloud architecture standards and guidelines.
- Manage the AWS Management Console, AWS data storage (S3) and virtual machine (EC2) to enable research collaborators through Research Gateway.
- Enable AWS cloud infrastructure for different researchers within and across teams.
- Perform in-depth troubleshooting and tracing of traffics / activities across various cloud services within commercial cloud environment (AWS and Azure) to identify root cause of the issues / incidents.
- Secure and maintain up-to-date baseline HCC computer services such as VM image with latest anti-malware definitions and latest patches.
- Deploy and maintain clinical data management platforms (e.g., Medidata, REDCap and Qualtrics) for electronic remote data capturing.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other relevant disciplines.
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with strong technical knowledge in AWS and Azure for the following areas: a) Workload management & operation: backup & recovery, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, patch management, key management, cert management, secret management, logs and alerts management, virtualization, storage, and databases. b) Identity & access control, directory services, account & access management. c) Policy management, Governance, compliance, and data privacy.
- Possess strong knowledge and experience in AWS and Azure Well Architected Framework, best practices, and Application Infrastructure Architecture Standard (AIAS). Specific experience in the government / healthcare sector will be advantageous.
- Prior experience in designing and building web environments on AWS, which includes working with services like S3 and EC2.
- Proficient in EC2 instance Linux/Unix and Windows CLI server system administration to install AWS applications, software and data science packages. e.g., R, Rstudio, Python, Anaconda etc.
- Have experience using monitoring solutions such as AWS SNS, Cloudwatch and Billing dashboard to keep track of S3 and EC2 associated cost withing budget.
- Possess knowledge of AWS service catalogue, AMI, JSON, Python, YAML scripts to enable the cloud infrastructure S3 and EC2 for the end user.
- Experienced with Terraform managing AWS infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and open to take on new challenges.
- Proficient in communications and working with multiple groups.
- Have effective time management and organizational skills.
