Responsibilities:
- Responsible for carrying out the design tasks and supporting the design activities
- To prepare the Technical Specifications
- To prepare of General Arrangement Plan (GAP)
- To development of new designs and design concepts
- To continue updating the developing and expanding of the design database
- To participate in tests and trials, where required
- To be involved in technical discussion with Owner(s), Classification bodies and suppliers, where required
- To perform on site checking, discussion, where necessary to resolve issues at site with Production, Ship Repair Managers, Consultants, Classification Society Surveyors, Owners etc., where necessary
- To define the material and equipment, and to determine the required scope of supply (material, standards and documentation) for PR
- To prepare drawings/documents as per the contractual technical specification and Classification/Statutory Authorities Rules and Regulations.
- To perform engineering calculation, design and computer simulation analysis
- To ensure equipment specification, technical information, functional description document and installation control document and interface design specification are properly maintained, disseminate and use for the preparation of design work activities
- To update Department Head on work progress/status and shortcomings on technical issues on projects under his charge
- To ensure the quality control in the design / drawing process
- To ensure safekeeping of restricted documents and drawings
- To participate in harbour sea acceptance trials, where necessary
- To keep abreast with current technological developments and products, Classification rules, military and industrial standards and other standards relevant to design activities
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering
- Relevant experience in Marine or Integration work will be advantageous
- Keen interest in project management and coordination work
- Able to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders
- Only Singaporeans need apply
