This incumbent will lead and provide direction in ensuring appropriate and cost-effective Biomedical Engineering Services for Thomson Medical Singapore. He or she shall also lead, develop and implement strategic plans to meet Thomson Medical’s objectives in the management of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH), with a strong focus on Occupational Health matters.
Job responsibilities
- Prepare equipment specifications, tender/quotation documents, evaluate tender offers, commissioning and maintenance of medical equipment to ensure the medical equipment and their associated accessories are well maintained, safe for use and fit for purpose.
- Support all hospital departments and clinics in their Biomedical Engineering requirements, CAPEX planning, maintenance and operating OPEX, sourcing, etc.
- Oversee and manage the WSH programs and initiatives.
- Carry out risk assessments and taking mitigating measures to identify potential hazards and risks within the organisation and devising strategies to mitigate these risks thereby preventing accidents and injuries.
- Develop and implement strategic plans and governance framework for WSH in Thomson Medical including conducting training and awareness programs to raise awareness and ensure understanding of safety protocols and best practices.
Job requirements
- A Level, Diploma, or Degree in Biomedical/Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years’ relevant experience in handling Biomedical Engineering
- Possess good leadership qualities.
- Management competency to drive and coordinate a broad spectrum of the assigned work.
- Able to work well with ambiguity to come up with new strategies and policies to address evolving needs.
- Good knowledge of hospital services, operations, facilities and medical equipment.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and able to work effectively with individuals and groups.
- Good knowledge of negotiation strategies and skills.
