A leading asset management firm is looking to hire VP Legal. You will be responsible for the folloing. You will be responsible for ensuring that the company's activities within the asset management sector comply with relevant laws and regulations, while also protecting the organization's interests. Negotiate distribution agreements, letters of understanding, selling agreements and other product distribution-related agreements with the wealth management intermediary channels and platforms. Engage with internal and external legal counsel throughout negotiation of agreements with wealth management intermediaries This role involves drafting and reviewing legal documents, advising on legal matters, and collaborating with various stakeholders, including portfolio managers, compliance officers, and senior executives. Prepare, review, and negotiate a variety of legal documents, including investment management agreements, service provider contracts, and client agreements. Ensure that contractual terms protect the company's interests while minimizing legal risks. Lawyer with 5-10 years PQE, previous in-house experience preferred but will consider candidates from private practice with good experience with a focus on wealth management/priate banking/ private funds and/or semi-liquid offerings and distribution-related matters. Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
