The Role

Are you obsessed with email marketing - from building email lists and creating onboarding, habit-building, and replenishment flows to protecting domain reputation and experimenting with segmentation tactics?

Do you also know the ins and outs of Klaviyo like the back of your hand?

How about conducting continual A/B tests to stop leaky buckets, while giving customers the best experience ever?

And achieving all of the goals above by working with like-minded and capable individuals including but not limited to our email copywriter and designer, retention marketing manager, as well as SMS and direct mail vendors?

We’re looking for an Email Marketing Manager to upgrade our email automation and broadcast capabilities. This includes:

  • Email Strategy: Advanced automation & segmentation strategies for acquisition and retention, including but not limited to new offer and message tests, cross-sells, and winback flows.
  • Email List Management: List building, segmentation, tagging, deliverability management, naming convention.
  • Email Technical Management: Campaigns and flows implementation.
  • Email Analytics: Continuous A/B tests, workflow management, report generation.

Roles & Responsibilities

Part 1: Klaviyo campaign and flow setup and management 

  • Project management: Lead the creation of a content production calendar to meet both acquisition and retention goals.
  • Project coordination: Work with email copywriter and designer to meet content production timelines and quality.
  • Quality assurance: Review emails to check for typos, grammatical errors, layout issues, and design improvements.
  • Testing: Test new campaign and flow setups to verify and confirm specifications are met. (e.g. audience, source code/format, working CTA links and design elements, correct CTA links)
  • Implementation: Set up campaigns and flows with precise triggers, segmentations, and filters to send the right emails to the right people at the right time.
  • Checks: Monitor new campaign and flow performance immediately and 24 hour after activation to verify and confirm specifications are met.

Part 2: Klaviyo list, segment, filter, and tag management

  • Oversee account structure, naming convention, and tag management.
  • Collaborate with SMS and Direct Mail team to create target lists and segments to support promotional and evergreen content calendars.
  • Collaborate with promotions team to create custom lists and segments to test targeted offers and new product launches.

Part 3: Deliverability optimization

  • Understand email deliverability architecture. (e.g. sending and receiving servers, key needle movers to improve delivery and deliverability, SPF/DKIM configurations, DMARC deployment, etc.)
  • Design mini projects to improve deliverability, starting with the highest impact changes we can make to strengthen the foundation of our email channel.
  • Measure and reiterate on email deliverability improvement efforts.

Part 4: Measurement

  • Work with our measurement team to set up and use PowerBI, Google Data Studio, or another data visualization tool to report daily, weekly, and monthly revenues and performance of the email channel. Knowledge of such tools is a bonus skill but not required as long as you are open to find resources online to learn on your own.
  • Analyze data and derive key insights to direct email marketing efforts. This involves slicing and dicing data in different ways daily. You will receive guidance to improve your analytical thinking skills.
  • Measure the success of all initiatives and develop proficiency in first-click and last-click reporting and lift measurement.

Part 5: Building email list and designing conversion sequences

  • Study our marketing strategy and identify opportunities to grow our email database. (including but not limited to pop-ups, content upgrades, etc.)
  • Designing conversion sequences to convert traffic into leads and leads into sales.

Part 6: Designing customer journey and creating email retention strategy

  • Collaborate with Retention Marketing Manager to create and maintain an up-to-date customer journey map.
  • Create an email retention strategy around the customer journey map to boost retention.
  • Identify impactful levers and craft strategies to produce incremental retention.

  • At least 5 years of email marketing experience, with at least 3 years in consumer-facing products (retail, DTC, affiliates, etc.).
  • Experience with Klaviyo is compulsory. Experience with other email marketing softwares (e.g. Sendlane) is a plus.
  • Excellent project management skills with an ability to set and achieve goals, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. 
  • A solid understanding of direct response marketing principles (e.g. market awareness, sophistication, message elements, persuasion, marketing research, objections, hooks and leads).
  • Analytical, quantitative and qualitative skills including a strong understanding of online marketing. Awareness of holdouts and incrementality testing is a bonus.
  • Demonstrated experience in rigorous A/B test ideas, implementation, and iterations.
  • Pays close attention to detail and sets up processes to enforce high standards.

Work Arrangement

  • This is a full time position.
  • If you are based in Singapore, we work from office 10 AM to 7 PM, SGT Monday to Friday.
  • If you are based outside of Singapore, then we require you to work on a 2 hour overlap with the Singapore team. (GMT+8)
  • We prefer candidates from GMT to GMT+12 time zone for ease of collaboration with the team.
