Responsibilities
- Driving Tester shall conduct all practical driving/riding tests for ALL Classes of driving licences i.e. Class 2B, 2A, 2, 3, 3A, 4, 4A and 5 (the “Tests”) in accordance with the Driving Tester Instruction Manual and all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including the practical test marking guides of the Authority.
- To conduct invigilation of all theory Tests (Basic, Final, Riding and Instructor Theory Test) in accordance with the Driving Tester Instruction Manual and all relevant Standard Operating Procedures.
- Driving Tester shall process the marking of theory Test answer scripts using an Optical Marker Reader for paper-based theory tests whenever the computerised test theory system is down or for oral theory tests.
- To maintain an Official Tester Diary in the form and format
- To ensure proper turnout and bearing when on duty (e.g. to wear proper Tester Uniforms with name tag, and black colour shoes).
- To maintain the highest standards of personal conduct and professionalism when on duty as they represent the Authority at the workplace.
- Driving Tester shall maintain a driving licence demerit point record of no more than 12 demerit points
Requirements
- Have a minimum 3 GCE 'O' Level credits or NITEC Certification, or relevant job experience as a driving instructor or tester
- Have at least a valid Singapore Class 3 Driving Licence and more than 3 years of driving experience
- Be at least 25 years of age
- Have a good driving record with not more than 6 demerit points* based on the date of the Authority’s screening, on his latest driving records, and no criminal records;
- Have good interpersonal and communication skills (preferably fluent in English language and at least one of the following languages: Mandarin, Malay or Tamil)
- Basic knowledge in MS Office programs such as MS Word and MS Outlook
- Basic knowledge of mechanical functions of motor vehicles; and
- Passing of Trade Tests conducted by the Traffic Police within 2 attempts
