Job Title: Training Officer (Adult Education Services)


Reports to: Head (Adult Enhancement Program)

Assistant Director (Services)

Training and Education


1. Deliver a comprehensive program (based on AEP or ILT Centre programs) to develop essential life skills, functional skills, and vocational skills to promote independence of the adult beneficiaries in DSA’s centre based adult programs.


2. Conduct appropriate modes of assessment to monitor beneficiaries’ progress by providing feedback, progress reports and implementing suitable instructional supports to close gaps.


3. Plan and prepare the Individualised Training Plan (ITP) with the Head/Team (Adult Education Services) and other relevant professionals through meetings with caregivers.


4. Monitor ITP to ensure the client is achieving the educational, community, vocational and behavioural goals as scheduled.


5. Implement community referenced training to ensure that the client achieves the community goals as planned.


6. Support and assist in training for employment opportunities.


7. Conduct training for teachers, professionals and caregivers who work with or care for persons with Down syndrome.


8. Participate in the development and implementation of DSA education and training programmes,


9. Advise caregivers of persons with Down syndrome on matters relating to education and training.


10. Plan and conduct Parent Trainer meetings. Prepare relevant documents.


Administrative and Others


1. Provide administrative support to the Head and Assistant Director (Services) and assist with monthly reports and outcome indicators data for submission to relevant authorities.


2. To participate in events organized/supported by DSA (S) and research projects.


3. To attend relevant training and courses.


4. Undertake any other duties as assigned by DSA.


Requirements


1. Minimum qualification: Diploma (SPED, Supported Employment, Community Services, Counselling and Guidance, Psychology, Social Work)


2. 2-3 years’ experience in teaching adults with disabilities.


3. Passionate about working with persons with disabilities.
