Job Responsibilities

1. Responsible for the work and activities related to installation, service, and maintenance of all Connectivity/Satellite Systems (Starlink, VSAT, FBB, Iridium and etc), IT Network Hardware/software installation, Firewall configuration, Installation and Maintenance of CCTV in ship.

2. Complete network setup in vessel which includes network formation, identification and segregation of vessel network as per customer requirement.

3. Assist coordination team with work orders and vessel schedules, including liaising with vessel agents prior to attendance.

4. Creating detailed documentation from installations, services, and maintenances for tasks assigned.

5. Responsible for completion of tasks on time with respect to agreed scope of work.

6. Work individually in field with the correct tools and approved spares as required.

7. Cooperate with internal departments to solve technical and operational issues, coordinate closely with Support and project management team.

8. Testing and repairing of Satcom equipment’s, Configuration of IT equipment’s (i.e Computers, Servers, Firewall, WAP and Switches) in warehouse as per client’s requirement when there is no vessel attendance.

9. Provide remote support to solve vessel connectivity and IT related issues when there is no vessel attendance.

10. Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain required PPE in workplace.

Educational and skills

1. Education in IT & Telecommunications (Diploma, bachelor’s degree or similar)

2. CCNA and other network related courses is an advantage.

3. IT Knowledge is a must, minimum understanding on computer server, configuration, network infrastructure and administration.

4. Experience in the vessel IT, marine electronics and communication equipment’s installations on yachts, commercial vessels, or any offshore installation is an advantage.

5. Strong understanding of concepts and protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, VPN and DHCP

6. Good Knowledge of Firewall, Router and Switches configuration and maintenance.

7. Working knowledge of computer hardware and software.

8. Ability to conduct basic network troubleshooting (in particular; LAN’s), including knowledge of standard network cabling.

9. Demonstrated technical knowledge and strong troubleshooting skills.

10. Physically fit to work in maritime environments. Must be able to lift heavy equipment, work in height and climb into confined antenna spaces.

11. Support and communicate with customers in a professional manner.

12. Team player with ability to work independently in solving tasks.

13. Actively seek and share knowledge within the organization.

14. Flexible to perform other tasks outside the scope of main role.

15. Flexible to work and travel outstations varying schedules, including evening and weekends in short notice.
