Job Description
- To assist Engineering Manager to ensure smooth running of daily engineering operations.
- To be competent to set up, configure, operate and maintain a wide variety of electronic equipment involved in outside broadcasting production, including, but not limited to HD Video, UHD Video, Audio and Communication Equipment.
- To be competent in the use of Radio Frequency Equipment and antenna systems
- To be able to troubleshoot broadcasting equipment to a system level and able to communicate and report to the office and manufacturer for problem solving.
- To undertake project work from site surveys to delivering in a professional and timely manner.
- To assist in keeping equipment updated with the manufacturers latest software releases.
- To be responsible for maintaining technical equipment and systems to the required safety and technical standards with minimum disruption to operational activities.
- To be willing to learn and practice the new technologies used by NEP Singapore that have not been experienced or worked with before.
- To be able to direct, instruct and manage assistant engineers and possible system integrators on projects.
- To work safely at all times, complying with statutory safety requirements from NEP Singapore Health and Safety Policies.
- To be able to draft technical reports of field work.
- To be competent in reading and designing of the engineering workflow.
- Prepare technical documents for the preparation of projects and amend as necessary throughout the life of the project
- Attend technical meetings for the projects when is necessary.
- To be flexible with work time and travel.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience of working in broadcast television. Preferably with direct experience of working in an Outside Broadcast environment.
- Familiar with the operation and programming of Routers, Switchers, Tally Systems, Multiviewers, etc
- Familiar with the setup and integration of cameras, lenses, ccu’s etc.
- Experience with EVS equipment including LSM, X-File, X-Hub, IP Director
- Relevant engineering qualifications or a proven track record
- An understanding of radio, television, and the associated transmission and carrier systems.
- Understanding of computers, servers, IT systems and networks.
- A keen interest in broadcast technology, its development and application in the region.
- Knowledge of Cisco Switches and IP technology an advantage.
