Position: Primary teacher
Overall Responsibilities
• To teach and educate students according to guidelines provided by the school’s curricular programmes - CISCE.
• To teach and educate students according to the educational needs, abilities and attainment potential of individual students entrusted to his/her care by the Head of School.
• To promote the school's ideals as well as the characteristics and attitude of the learners.
• Always maintain rigorous and appropriate learning expectations of all students. Includes the below but not limited to –
• Teach across the whole age groups.
• Plan, prepare and deliver lessons to teach knowledge, techniques, support and enhance each learner’s understanding.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure that every learner’s individual needs are catered for through differentiated planning, learning engagements and assessment opportunities.
• Assess and monitor the progress of learners and set goals for improvement, including writing students reports and attending parents’ meetings.
• Lead or be involved in extra-curricular activities, school events, assemblies, staff training, meetings, etc.
• Promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of all students.
• Engage with the administration in a committed effort to improve one’s own instructional skills.
• Openly support and abide by all school policies and procedures.
• Model the ‘Core Values’ in your interactions with the school community.
• Liaise with the Principal, taking on tasks as assigned, including all school goals.
Requirements
• Minimum two (2) years or more relevant full-time teaching experience as a qualified teacher.
• Candidate must at least possess Bachelor’s degree.
• Fluency in spoken & written English.
• Experience of teaching ICSE/ IGCSE.
• Teacher Training is mandatory.
• In-depth subject knowledge and teaching methodologies.
• Basic IT Skills.
• Interpersonal communication skills.
• A passionate educator with the ability to deliver student-centered, inquiry-based learning.
Selection Advantage Criteria:
• Teachers having prior work experience at DPS will be eligible for a higher qualifying salary.
• Teachers who have work experience at Private schools in Singapore will be eligible for a higher qualifying salary.
• Singapore Citizen/PR applicants will have an added advantage.
