Marketing Communications (MarCom) Specialist

The MarCom Specialist plays a key role in promoting the federation's mission, services, and member benefits. He/she should be adept at navigating the complexities of the industry, building relationships with diverse stakeholders, and effectively communicating the federation's value to both current and prospective members.


Critical Work Functions & Key Tasks

1. Develop marketing strategies and plans

  • Develop integrated marketing and communications strategies that align with the business federation's goals and objectives.
  • Develop impactful messages and themes to convey the federation's value proposition, ensuring consistent branding to reinforce its identity.

2. Manage marketing and communication channels

  • Generate compelling content for various communication channels, including newsletters, websites, social media, and other relevant platforms.
  • Manage the federation's digital presence, including social media accounts and email campaigns.
  • Utilize digital channels to enhance communication with members and promote federation initiatives.

3. Stakeholder Outreach

  • Establish and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including industry partners, government entities, and other relevant organizations.
  • Identify collaboration opportunities and facilitate partnerships that align with the federation's mission.

4. Event Promotion

  • Plan, promote, and execute events hosted by the business federation, such as conferences, workshops, and networking sessions.
  • Collaborate with event organizers, partners, vendors and suppliers for future collaborations.

5. Member Engagement

  • Develop and implement strategies to engage current members and attract new ones.
  • Create targeted communications to highlight the benefits of membership and promote participation in federation programs and events.
  • Work closely with member companies to gather success stories, testimonials, and industry insights for use in marketing materials.

6. Market Research

  • Conduct market research to understand the needs and challenges of members and the broader industry.
  • Use research findings to tailor communication strategies and address member concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma/Degree in related disciplines such as Mass Communications, Marketing, PR
  • 2 years’ experience in related industries (B2B Marketing preferred)
  • Knowledge & Proficiency in design related software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, Video Editing Software etc is a plus.
