The ideal candidate will have a passion for fostering early literacy skills in young children (2-8 years old) through engaging and developmentally appropriate phonics instruction. The Main Teacher, leads and manages the lesson flow and plays a crucial role in laying the foundation for future academic success by creating a supportive and stimulating learning environment.
Scope
Commit to a schedule of 1-3 weekdays (Half Day) and 1-2 weekends (Full Day)
Hourly Rate: $30 - $35 based on experience and qualifications
Location: Serangoon
In House Training/ OJT (5 days Training Allowance: $240)
Responsibilities:
Phonics Instruction: Implement the Articulate Literacy phonics curriculum to the developmental needs of preschool-aged children. Utilize creative and interactive teaching methods to make phonics engaging and accessible.
Classroom Management: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active participation, collaboration, and a love for learning. Implement effective behaviour management strategies to create a safe and respectful space for all students.
Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess students' phonics skills and progress, keeping detailed records to track individual development. Use assessment data to inform instructional decisions and differentiate teaching approaches as needed.
Parent Communication: Establish open and transparent communication with parents regarding their child's phonics development. Provide regular updates on curriculum, activities, and strategies for reinforcing phonics skills at home.
Qualifications
Proficient in English Language
Diploma in Early Childhood Education or Equivalent
GCE ‘O’ level pass in English
1 year teaching experience as Main Teacher or
2 years as Assistant Teacher
Experience in Phonics or Proflair experienced preferable.
