The role of the Designer is to contribute to the Project Team’s delivery of projects. A resourceful and flexible approach is required to manage daily project workflow and tasks. The Designer must be able to multi-task, demonstrate initiative, and self-motivation, and be proactive in the best interest of the Company. The position requires a high degree of creative flair, a solid understanding of passive and active green design principles, and a team-working ethos in a fast-paced creative environment.
Responsibilities
- Take direction from the project leader and contribute to the project design evolution
- Contribute and develop design solutions from the conceptual level through construction documentation utilising 2D/3D software
- Coordinate with project leader, consultants, vendors, and specialist agencies (e.g. model makers, rendering artists)
- Assist in implementation and technical support of Revit Standards to ensure optimised project efficiency
- Coordinate the expansion of existing Revit content and detail libraries
- Update and implement BIM execution plan at project startup and milestones
- Review, update, and improve the BIM standards and templates to ensure quality and consistency
- Manage and review the Revit production, e-filing, and archiving of document sets
- Assist in the production of 3D-printed scaled models and equipment maintenance
- Liaise with an external IT consultant to assist in resolving related IT requirements
- Conduct site visits/inspections relating to design briefing, project technical coordination, and review
- Assist in the coordination and preparation of presentations, material specifications, drawings, and FF&E packages
- Assist to build resource 2D/3D library, prepare mood boards, mood imagery, precedent case studies
- Develop graphics/ templates/ brand book for related project marketing collaterals
- Participate in the studio’s related marketing initiatives and events
- Contribute to the studio’s research and development activities
- Be flexible to travel throughout Southeast Asia as and when required
Requirements
- Master’s degree in related design field
- 2+ years of relevant project experience (knowledge in Revit and BIM workflow preferred)
- Green Rating knowledge/accreditation preferred (ie. Green Mark, LEED, etc)
- Excellent knowledge of plant species, materials, and landscape specification
- A rigorous understanding of sustainable urbanism best practice principles
- Proficiency in Adobe (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and MS Office Suite, and relevant 2D/3D software
- Possess strong verbal and written communication, graphic and organisational skills
- Demonstrate ability to undertake the above responsibilities
- Ability to quickly understand, formulate, adapt decisions, and present for design reviews
- Ability to take initiative in response to design direction or instruction
- Excellent problem-analysis and resolution skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information
- Self-motivated and able to take responsibility
- Able to cope with multiple demands while remaining professional at all times
- A flexible and open attitude toward new methods of collaboration
