Job Description
Nanyang Business School competes with top business schools worldwide to attract senior professionals from diverse backgrounds to join its graduate programmes. The key purpose of the role is to provide world-class career services to NBS’s graduate students, and manage employer relationships in key sectors, and source for suitable positions for NBS’s graduate students.
The position holder is responsible for providing career services to MBAs and ensure students are successful in their post-MBA leadership journey. This includes sourcing for suitable jobs and internship roles for these MBA students.
Responsibilities:
1. Career office strategy and implementation:
- Engage with leadership to launch and operationalise strategic initiatives to keep career services at the forefront of providing optimal and efficient services.
- Engage with the careers team in providing multi-faceted career workshops, networking events, company presentations, etc.
2. Lead career and administrative support for MBA students in full-time and internship roles:
- Work with NTU/NBS and external stakeholders in ensuring all relevant job and internship opportunities are availed to MBA students in timely manner.
- Understand career goals of MBA students and provide guidance in job search and/or internship journeys.
- Provide student counselling to MBA students.
- Ensure timely submission of completed and graded assignments/reports for internship module.
- Ensure that all governmental, regulatory and the University’s policies and guidelines for internships are fully enforced for example restriction on the number of internship hours for international students during term time.
- Ensure all information required for ranking of MBA programme are securely captured and complete.
- Perform other essential duties and tasks specific to position.
3. Support business development and employer engagement to secure full-time jobs and internship opportunities for MBA students:
- Work with GSCDO sector leads to engage employers and increase placement rates of MBA students.
- Maintain understanding of market factors (national & global) relative to employer organisations.
- Build partnerships with companies that can provide full-time jobs and internships/industry project opportunities for students.
- Manage relationships with Senior Career Fellows, industry leaders who provide industry insights and also career coaching to students. Take charge of administrative matters as part of relationship management.
4. Provide counselling to MBA students:
- Understand student’s full-time jobs and internship goals and provide guidance in their job search.
- Provide first level insights across industries, and coach students to ensure readiness for career related interactions with employers.
- Develop and maintain close relationships with interns as well as industry partners, including but not limited to regular in-person site visits to intern’s workplace.
Requirements:
- Degree from a top-tier global business school is required.
- At least 7 years’ experience, with significant front-line and sales/business development experience.
- Proven track record of business development in past working experiences including successfully building internal and external collaborations.
- Experience in career services and/or working with post-graduate students with an Institute of Higher Learning, preferably within a business school, is advantageous.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability in working with people from diverse and multi-cultural backgrounds.
- Outstanding presentation skills, including ability to deliver high impact presentations to senior executives.
- Meticulousness with good eye for details, and be able to work under tight deadlines.
- Team-player with a pleasant disposition and outgoing personality.
