Responsibilities
- Liaise with external agencies on all matters pertaining to NEL Power Supply system and equipment
- Meeting operational targets for availability and reliability of Power Supply
- Ensure all equipment is operated and maintained in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and in compliance with legislative requirements
- Procure all necessary tools, spares and services pertaining to the operation of the system
- Plan and implement a cost effective and comprehensive maintenance program
- Prepare and review maintenance contracts. Certify outsourced maintenance contractor’s work, invoices, purchase orders and variation orders
- Develop and maintain Work Instructions in accordance with approved documented procedures
- Ensure safe work and access for Mainline and Depot maintenance activities
- Lead in Failure Review and Corrective Action implementation
- Responsible for the management of staff including participation in selection, discipline and performance review processes
- Responsible for the formulation of asset management plans, preparation of associated budgets and asset performance
- Participate in testing and commission of equipment
- Implement and maintain Quality Management System
- Recruit, develop and supervise Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Technicians
- Undertake tasks and projects as assigned by the HOD
Requirements:
- Degree/Master in Electrical Engineering
- At least 5 years' working experience in HV and LV environment preferably within the rail transportation industry
- Electrical Power System background
- Preferably EMA Licensed Electrical Worker (Engineer/Technician grade)
- Possess a positive attitude, mature, highly initiative, with strong leadership qualities and able to relate well with individuals at all levels and function effectively
