Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, manage, and maintain virtualized infrastructure.
- Create documentation, perform root cause analysis, quickly identify trends and recommend possible solutions.
- Troubleshoot network, hardware, and software related issues.
- Serve as a primary support and maintenance resource for customers.
- Perform required maintenance off hours and support 24x7 operations.
- Participate in requirements gathering.
- Present and promote solutions and services to highlight value add.
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma in computer science, information technology, computer programming or relevant studies with 2+ years experiences in virtualization technology is preferred.
- VMWare Certified Professional (VCP) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of server systems, storage systems, virtualization technologies and networking.
- Knowledge of data centre route/switch technology, backup/recovery in a virtual environment.
- Understanding of active directory architecture, DNS administration.
- For Virtualization ie VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V.
- For Storage ie HDS (Hitachi Data System), HPE, Dell, EMC, Lenovo, IBM.
- For Backup Software ie Veeam, Veritas BackupExec, Veritas NetBackup, Acronis, Arcserve, Shadow Protect.
- Preferably with some working experience and knowledge in Linux.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong coordination and project skills.
- Strong customer experience mindset, listening, understanding and responding to customer needs.
- Assess and evaluate current virtual computing infrastructure, and provide recommendations for enhancements.
