Your responsibilities include overseeing the end-to-end process of various commercial contracts, negotiating banking agreements, and ensuring continuous compliance with relevant laws and regulations. As a seasoned legal mind, you will also contribute to risk reduction, the creation of legal templates, and the development of efficient legal processes.

What you’ll do.
• Elevate your legal strategy with nuanced guidance across a spectrum of critical areas at X. I specialize in navigating complex landscapes, including GDPR, PCIDSS, ISO 27001, international regulations, confidentiality, IP, and global privacy and data security issues
• Drafting, negotiating and managing the end to end process of a variety of commercial contracts including but not limited to: Card Processing Agreements, Issuer Agreements, NDAs, Data Sharing/Processing Agreements, Partner Referral Agreements, Strategic Partner Agreements, Consultancy Agreements and Supplier Agreements
• Negotiating ad hoc banking agreements, shareholder agreements and other corporate related documents.
• Remaining up to date with all applicable laws and regulations to ensure GPS’s continual compliance
• Reducing legal and commercial risks and liabilities
• Drafting legal templates where necessary and creating efficient legal processes.
• Working with the broader team to share information about the regulatory environment to facilitate efficient and transparent legal support across the business.
• Providing advice on employment law related activities
• Providing legal and strategic business guidance to business units and management on all commercial matters
• Providing clarification on legal language or specifications as necessary, particularly in relation to GDPR, data protection and information security
• Assessing and advising on risks or additional considerations during product development and post product launch
• Providing ad hoc training on relevant legal developments and topics as needed.
• Driving and assisting with special projects, as needed
• Manage and lead a team of Legal Counsel
• Be a point of escalation and handle complex cases
What you’ll need.
• Qualified lawyer
• Experience in-house within a commercial setting
• International and/or legal entity experience
• Firm understanding of data security regulations as it relates to the processing of personally identifiable information
• Sound legal and practical business judgment
• Superb contract drafting skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage a high volume of projects while meeting tight deadlines
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively – exceptional internal and external stakeholder management
• Extensive experience creating templates and setting up processes independently
