Communications Manager

1. Manage Foundation’s global communication strategy

  • Build and execute annual communication strategy and budget to enhance knowledge of organisation’s work in core countries
  • Lead on design and execution of annual communication plans for Indonesia and Singapore
  • Oversee design and execution of annual communication plan for Nigeria

2. Lead Foundation’s external communication and representation

  • Strengthen Foundation’s presence and narrative, including through:
  1. Ishk’s Instagram and LinkedIn pages
  2. Ishk’s website
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships to share our work e.g. with media houses, storytelling outfits, conferences or panels
  • Develop and share annual update of Foundation’s activities through:
  1. Annual Report and Video
  2. Presentation to Ishk’s Board of Directors and the Tolaram Family Assembly
  • Review and endorse key communications that represent the global brand, including:
  1. Visual materials e.g. brand videos, documentaries
  2. Written materials e.g. publications, features, speeches, network profile
  3. Media coverage

3. Oversee Country Team’s external communications

  • Ensure the following across organisation:
  1. Cohesive narrative
  2. Accurate impact reporting
  3. Consistent visual brand application
  4. Quality storytelling
  • Review and endorse external communications:
  1. Visual materials e.g. brand videos
  2. Written materials e.g. publications, features,
  3. Physical branding e.g. infrastructure

4. Manage Employee Engagement Initiatives

  • Manage the annual Pass-it-On (PIO) strategy and budget
  • Maintain related communication materials and coordinate outreach
  • Manage roll-out, due diligence and execution, supported by the Programs Team
  • Lead on community building for PIO grant recipients

5. Support internal communication and culture-building initiatives

  • Support communication to Ishk’s Board of Directors, including curating monthly and quarterly updates
  • Plan program and content of annual team retreat with Chief Executive Officer and oversee the execution of the retreat
  • Coordinate monthly Team Huddles

6. Manage communications-related administration

  • Maintain brand repository and guidelines for use of the Foundation’s branding
  • Update onboarding pack for the Foundation quarterly and organise onboarding within Singapore
  • Manage communications-related software i.e. Zoom, Grammarly, Canva, Dropbox, Adobe
  • Review relevant policies at the global level e.g. personal data protection
  • Manage general enquiries inbox and redirect communications to relevant team members

7. Learning, development and network building

  • Represent the Foundation to share about our work at relevant forums and events
  • Develop and maintain a network of peers in communication and social impact for learning and growth
  • Attend educational and networking opportunities to upgrade professional skills and knowledge related to Ishk’s focus areas, strategy and social impact communications

Skills

  • Strong applied knowledge in social media, marketing and communication
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to train and advocate for effective communication skills across organization
  • Nuanced understanding and experience in strengthening culture and setting processes in an organisation
  • Basic proficiency in graphic design, videography and photography
