The Opportunity
Our Subsea Division is expanding! MMA Offshore has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Surveyor to join our growing Subsea Division.
Reporting to the Survey & Inspection Operations Manager, the role will be responsible for preparation, offshore execution, data processing, data management and reporting of offshore and onshore survey projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of Operations Plans.
- Preparation of internal reports, final reports and drawing source data.
- Processing of data ensuring a clear path from raw data to final deliverable.
- Project preparation and project close-out reports including actioning of engineering notes, ensuring effective data management and ensuring good communication with relevant Managers.
- Install, calibrate and maintain all survey equipment offshore as required.
- Write Field Reports including Calibrations, Installation, run Toolbox Talks etc.
- Liaise with Party Chief to ensure all Offshore project objectives are met.
- Develop and maintain Offshore reports detailing survey technical work in progress.
- Effect repairs as and when required to maintain the operational status of all equipment.
- In consultation with Survey Engineers prepare or update engineering handover notes
- Discuss work in progress offshore with subcontractors and supervise output.
- Assist with ensuring compliance with system upgrades and data accuracy, including but not limited to, updates to Geodesy and Geodetic parameters.
- Attend project briefings / debriefings to understand and participate in survey technical operations offshore.
- Develop procedures in accordance with industry regulations, health and safety regulations and contract requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in the offshore maritime or oil and gas industry.
- Bachelor of Science Degree, specifically Hydrographic Survey, Surveying or Marine Science, or equivalent.
- Certified Professional Hydrographic Surveyor (CPHS) Level 1 or Level 2.
- Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable).
- Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (desirable).
- Valid CSTP and/or TBOSIET or equivalent offshore licence (desirable).
Competencies
- A strong working knowledge of offshore and marine operations, specifically Survey and Inspection and Survey vessel operations in accordance with imposed legislative requirements.
- Demonstrated safety management awareness.
- Ability to use established systems (Quality and Safety).
- Demonstrated logistics planning experience.
- Capable of building and sustaining effective relationships.
- Excellent communication skills.
