Accounts Payable Assistant

Job Summary:

As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organization. Your responsibilities will include assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and collaborating with the finance team to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the finance department.

Responsibilities:

Financial Record Keeping:

  • Assist in the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Record daily financial transactions and ensure they are properly classified.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Process invoices, expense claims, and payments in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of invoices for customers and clients.
  • Follow up on overdue payments and address payment discrepancies.

Data Entry and Documentation:

  • Enter financial data into accounting software or spreadsheets.
  • Maintain organized and well-documented records of financial transactions.
  • File and archive financial documents appropriately.

Assist in Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Collaborate with the finance team in preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor budgetary performance and report any variances.

Financial Reporting:

  • Generate and prepare financial reports for review by senior staff.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Audit Support:

  • Assist in the preparation of documents and schedules for internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate with auditors to provide necessary information and explanations.

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations.

Communication:

Communicate with vendors, clients, and internal departments to address financial queries.

Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow within the finance department.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in accounting or finance roles is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and MS Office suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and standards.

Benefits and Salary:

Salary: $2,000 - $2,300 per month, commensurate with skills and experience.
